We fund nonprofits, schools, and higher education institutions to deliver our STEM education programs at no cost. Via experiential learning, Chip Class, Chip Camp, Going Tech, and Careers in Tech build awareness, skills, identity, and careers in STEM. While most offerings target learners between 6th and 12th grades, we also provide some of the programs to educators.
Chip Camp
Often during school breaks, Chip Camp immerses 6th–8th graders in semiconductor technology through multi-day, hands-on experiences. Students tour Micron or higher education facilities (in-person or virtually), engage in interactive labs and learn how memory chips power everyday life. With mentorship from Micron professionals and industry experts, Chip Camp builds STEM identity and inspires students to continue their STEM education, including AI.
Chip Class
Often held as an afterschool program, Chip Class brings STEM concepts to students through short, engaging lessons delivered across 6-8 weeks in schools and community centers near their hometowns (versus a consecutive multi-day camp). Students explore science and technology fundamentals with fun, engaging activities that spark curiosity and lay the foundation for future STEM education and careers.
Going Tech: Empowering students to see themselves in STEM
Going Tech connects middle and high school students with Micron professionals in a 1-day, 6-hour experience. Learners receive mentorship and explore real-world STEM applications. Through Micron site visits and interactive activities, students understand how technology solves global challenges and gain confidence to pursue STEM education and careers.
Careers in Tech: Opening doors to high-tech futures
Careers in Tech affords high school students a 1-day exploration of semiconductor careers. Participants tour Micron or higher education facilities (when possible), engage with Micron professionals, and explore pathways in engineering, computing and science, helping them envision and prepare for rewarding roles in the tech industry.
