Investing in educators to strengthen global STEM pathways
Through programs like Chip, Chip Hooray! for Educators and partnerships like the National Science Foundation's Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program and Experiential Learning for Emerging and Novel Technologies (ExLENT) grants, we fund training and curriculum innovation to empower thousands of teachers. These investments strengthen STEM teaching capacity, expand access for rural and underrepresented students, and prepare learners for semiconductor careers across regions.
Museums and science centers
Micron supports science centers and museums because they create immersive, hands-on experiences that help people learn by doing and build confidence in STEM. These institutions are unique community hubs that welcome diverse audiences, making them a powerful investment for expanding access to STEM learning and inspiring future innovators.
In Central New York, Micron has partnered with the Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science & Technology (MOST) to launch a STEM Fellowship, a hands-on community-embedded program designed to inspired and equip the next generation of STEM innovators. Each fellow will serve 500 hours over 12 months delivering immersive STEM programming at schools, community events, and at the MOST itself. This will include:
STEM Career Fairs tied to regional challenges: Catapult, Bridges, Robotics, Rocket Teams, and Science & Engineering
Outreach at STEM Nights, Family Nights, and Resource Fairs
Collaborations with New York Pathways in Technology Early College High (P-TECH) and Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) programs
