Micron 5400 SSD Firmware Update Instructions (D4MU[084]02)
 
Scope 
Firmware D4MU002 is applicable to all configurations of 1.9TB and under: 
MTFDDAV240TGC  
MTFDDAV240TGA, MTFDDAV480TGA, MTFDDAV960TGA  
MTFDDAK240TGA, MTFDDAK480TGA, MTFDDAK960TGA, MTFDDAK1T9TGA  
MTFDDAK480TGB, MTFDDAK960TGB, MTFDDAK1T9TGB  
 
Firmware D4MU402 is applicable to all configurations of 3.8TB: 
MTFDDAK3T8TGA, MTFDDAK3T8TGB 
 
Firmware D4MU802 is applicable to all configurations of 7.6TB: 
MTFDDAK7T6TGA 
 
  All three firmware images are packaged in a single file for easy updating. 
 
 
Firmware Update Instructions Using msecli  
 
Firmware update requires:  
- administrator or root user privileges  
 
1. Download the latest version of msecli from micron.com:  
https://www.micron.com/products/solid-state-storage/storage-executive-software  
 
2. Download the desired firmware file from micron.com 
 
3. List the drives in the system using:  
msecli -L   

4. Apply the firmware update to the desired Micron 5400 SSD indicated by "Device Name" using msecli:  
msecli -F -U <firmware.bin> -n <Device_Name>  
 Windows example:  
msecli -F -U 5400_D4MU[048]02_combined.bin -n drive1  
 Linux example:  
msecli -F -U 5400_D4MU[048]02_combined.bin -n /dev/sdb
